What Is Killing Floor III?

Killing Floor III is a co‑operative horror FPS from Tripwire Interactive, built on Unreal Engine 5. Announced at Gamescom 2023, it rolls back to its gore-filled roots—horror-rich tension meets refined gameplay. Players assume the roles of Nightfall specialists, defending humanity against mutated monstrosities known as “Zeds.” The action unfolds across solo or 6-player co-op, with weapon modding, specialist upgrades, and environmental traps. 


Release Date & Launch Highlights

  • Delayed from March, the official launch fell on July 24, 2025 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
    At launch: 7 maps, 3 difficulty levels, 3 boss fights, and 30 upgrade levels per specialist. Year 1 Roadmap rolled out soon after, featuring new specialists, maps, and weapon content.
